Since a very young age, I have been passionate about reading. Literacy is one of the most fundamental skills in life; by being able to read, an individual can gain all kinds of knowledge and open up worlds of learning and enjoyment that otherwise would not be possible. As a tutor, I will attempt to help your child if he or she is having difficulty reading or grasping the pronunciation of words by using the intensive phonics method. Using this teaching method, I show students how to break words down into individual letters and how each letter is pronounced. Then by putting each individual sound together, I show students how words are pronounced. This teaching method treats words much like a jigsaw puzzle. My job as a tutor is to show your child how to fit the pieces together. My teaching style is done in a friendly, low-key environment and lessons are conducted weekly for an hour at a local library.
